Founded in September 1988, the Association was originally called The Australian Capital Territory Veterans' Badminton Club (ACTVBC).  This Association was subsequently incorporated as ACT Veterans' Badminton Association Inc. (ACTVBA). The Association is affiliated to the ACT Badminton Association, the peak body for badminton in the Australian Capital Territorry.

Memberships consist of two categories:

1. Full Members are for over 35 year old,

2. Associate Members are for under 35 years old.
Associate members are NOT able to be committee members

The AGM was held on 18 August 2015 and elected the following for the 2015-2016 committee members:
